A great idea only works when you have the right people involved. Powered By Mates is driven by real people – some started as mates, some as complete strangers. All of them are now firmly part of the family. It starts with ONE conversation.

This isn’t about beer, this is about comfortable spaces. Spaces where you feel happy to talk, in the good times and the not so good. Designed to help start the conversation around mental health, our creative products get the conversation going, with linked web support to back up the chat.
In 2024 we partnered with Moorhouses Brewery to place 40000 pints of ‘Ask Twice’ into the Wetherspoons pub chain. The associated QR code on the pump clip was scanned 1000+ times in two weeks. We know it saved lives.
ONE Slater Terrace is the UK’s first co-working and events space, with a focus on wellbeing and supportive connections. Combining all the best bits of co-working, networking and meeting space in one venue, it’s our new home.
With a podcast studio, multi purpose meeting spaces and a style reminiscent of 90’s Manchester, this is a unique and creative space to work and to socialise.
We even have our own bar, Carters (a creatively named speakeasier) – our hub for conversation and connection.
